To advocate for the needs and rights of young children and their families, To support the growth and development of early childhood professionals, and To promote best practices in early care and education programs.
Our History
In the early 1980's, a group of local Early Childhood professionals began meeting to provide support to each other and to discuss common issues. In 1986, this group became Quad Cities AEYC, a bi-state NAEYC Affiliate Chapter, #284. Quad Cities AEYC subsequently affiliated with both the Illinois AEYC and Iowa AEYC State Affiliates and the Midwest AEYC Region. Because Illinois AEYC and Iowa AEYC relationships with NAEYC differ from one another, a second "ghost" affiliate, #589 (Iowa), was established in 1999 to accommodate differences between our relationship with Illinois AEYC and Iowa AEYC. Since then, Quad Cities AEYC's original Affiliate #284 has been associated with Illinois AEYC.
